    #universeodon is now even lying to its own users about #QOTO, and they seem to be getting the hint.

    If you are interested here are direct links so you can see my replies, he is lying about QOTO because we called him out for abusive moderation practices against his own users and now is engaging in a campaign to defame QOTO as a result.

      @wild1145@mastodonapp.uk Thanks. That sounds like a reasonable basis. It's a little surprising since their 'about' page says: An inclusive, Academic Freedom, instance All cultures welcome. Hate speech and harassment strictly forbidden. --- But, sometimes people say one thing and do another, I guess.

Don't even take my word for it, I challenge the moderator to find even a single example of a problematic post anywhere on our server, and he couldnt. He already admitted in another thread we were blocked because he adopted an incredibly abusive block list because he was too lazy to moderate himself. Bunch of threads cropped up of past Universeodon users who were upset and reports of this moderators abuse has been surfacing. @wild1145@mastodonapp.uk

      @wild1145@universeodon.com WOW you guys switched to this **incredibly** abusive list that is based, partly, on the mastodon.art list which is notoriously abusive and does absolutely no due diligence. Very disappointed in Universeodon at making such an abusive and negligent decision. One of the things that got them respected int he community is they used to be one of the few servers who actually did due diligence on their moderation.       I want to make sure #fediblock is aware that this post was made entirely in retaliation to this post I made one hour earlier: https://qoto.org/@freemo/111908762832451120 As I state explicitly this is a bald face lie that we have any modifications in our code base. Our codebase is public and linked. At no point did we change anything. They are just lying in retaliation to the above post (look at time stamps to see) #fediblock #mastoadmin

There was an incident where a Qoto user, a pro-palestinian artist/activist, posted a picture of a menorah made of bullets in his own thread about the Israeli-Palestinian situation, which was unnecessarily hurtful towards uninvolved Jewish people. I tried talking to the user about it, at first, hoping they just weren't thinking about this, but after the user blocked me, I went to Freemo about it. I don't remember how it played out, but I remember he resolved it in a way that satisfied me, and the post is no longer there. I don't think Freemo is perfect, I don't like all of his views, and I'm not even going to say that no one should block Qoto: that's a per-server decision that admins have to make to curate the community they want to keep. I will say though, I don't think it's accurate to say he doesn't moderate racism. If I did, we'd block his server.
