   #universeodon is now even lying to its own users about #QOTO, and they seem to be getting the hint.

   If you are interested here are direct links so you can see my replies, he is lying about QOTO because we called him out for abusive moderation practices against his own users and now is engaging in a campaign to defame QOTO as a result.

     @flamingofire Absolutely, which is proof we do moderate, and we are not "free speech" and do not claim to be. So your response has only proven what I said was true.

     As for if its a "bad practice" to moderate users and have criteria, that's a matter of opinion.

     @freemo I dunno. You've silenced your users freedom of speech in the past.

     While scrutinizing their valid credentials as a scientist, because you thought that their degree wasn't STEM enough.

     Then banned them when they refused to be silent, but never broke any of your rules.

     Neither QOTO nor Universedon are guilt free when it comes to bad moderation practices.

     Both of your instances should learn from moderation mistakes.

     Stop flinging shit at each other. Start acting like mature adults.

     @freemo While there have been users who "walked the line" (something I suspect they'll have a bigger issue with with Threads joining the federation, frankly), you absolutely do moderate.

     Also, I've seen servers which "do not moderate", and if you did not moderate, I would expect it to look a lot more like that.

     I had already explained when you were banned why it was against the rules. So I have little need to debate that aspect.

     Now come to find out that what they were preaching was right all along. All they were trying to do was save lives.

     I told you this so you can take a good cold hard look in the mirror. To see the error of your ways and mature.

     If your going to prove a point. Make sure it's both good and valid.

     There is also some weirdo who thinks that every person called "Jeff" is the same person. I even suspect he is doing this deliberately.

     Criticisms of vaccines in an educated way isnt a problem. I myself have criticized some choices in that regard. Namely that the vaccine was rushed through without the proper safety, which at this point it has achieved that level of safety so i no longer make that point.

     That said, blatent "viruses have never been isolated" conspiracy theory stuff and generally anti-STEM posts with 0 stem value (AKA an endless stream of conspiracy theories against scientific mainstream knowledge such as viruses or flat earth nonsense) will get a response from us. That response is to check if you are a STEM professional or not and review your timeline.

     In short, unless you are just spewing constant conspiracy theories and lack STEM credentials in those fields, then you will be asked to stop.

     That said you'd have to take it to a pretty far extreme for it to get you a ban for sure. Simply having an opinion in a field you dont have credentials for certainly wont do it. Your entire feed needs to be a trash heap and quite obvious you are here only to exploit the academic freedom and not as a member of the STEM community.
