@skuwamoto @RoyGBiv Since you have been curious and kind to indulge me, here’s one more tidbit and it might surprise you: Even though you and I are interacting here, I am not on Mastodon! From Mastodon, you can follow and interact with people on any platform that implements the ActivityPub protocol, which includes Pixelfed, Friendica, Calckey, Misskey, Identica, Hubzilla, and Pleroma. (Mastodon has the greatest adoption. No need to rethink your choice of platform.) My instance (libranet.de) is a Friendica instance. Pixelfed is the Fediverse equivalent of Instagram. (And it’s awesome.) In the corporate-controlled world of social media, a lot of us had Facebook, Twitter, AND Instagram accounts. Here, you can choose one and follow people on others. Or you can have multiple accounts. (I also have a Pixelfed account but I haven’t given it any attention in a while.)
