But in the 70's you used to be able to do this - not only could you joke about bombs but you could *bring your own gun and maybe even dynamite on the plane*. And for the most part, it was fine: there was a risk inherent in flying, but it was minor.
And I've actually both joked about bombs in airports, and been around others who did so. Because jokes can be, and usually are harmless, and done right they make people happy. They can be reasonable, pro-social activity.
