@yogthos@mas.to Our attachment to jobs and occupations under capitalism is Stockholm Syndrome. We have such fear of "being replaced" or threatened with "automation" because automation or computerized replacement means unemployment, loss of income, decreased quality of life, possible destitution, etc.. Because technology doesn't benefit the citizenry or the labor force, technology doesn't improve our lives or our society---technology unilaterally serves capital to increase profitability at the expense of everyone else. Automation or computerization means lack of gainful employment for you and greater profits for capital...when it could mean less need for manual labor for you with no decrease in quality of life. @geekysteven@beige.party
