That's fair. I think it's reasonable to assume that (at least in most cases) the ideological compliance comes essentially from extortion in the form of ESG and similar things. Once you start chipping away at the one thing that's keeping a not insignificant number of peole in line you run into problems. I'm curious if there would be any momentum that comes from this, because so much of the rhetoric and moral/legal framing of "DEI" is parallel to or originates from "civil rights". I'd like to see that issue get forced, even if it takes a while to get anywhere.
