Kobo's book marketplace riddled with inconvenient DRM and although I like the device a lot, it can't access web or network shares, although you can just copy your books over to it via USB, as you'd expect.
Unlike Kindles, you can't email books to the Kobo, and I've tried and failed to use its Android app to add third party content to its downloadable library.
I'm planning to install the open source Inkbox firmware on mine when I have time (https://github.com/Kobo-InkBox/inkbox), but the only remote library support that currently has is for Project Gutenberg, IIRC.
