Bluesky actually looks better than Fedi in some ways. For instance, they separate identities from infrastructure which means you can migrate accounts without losing all your follows and followers.
Your username is literally a domain name that you control rather than being attached to a domain name that someone else controls.
Okay, those two situations are basically the same with the current DNS, but fedi has the disadvantage that the domain your account is attached to is usually owned by someone who feels responsible for what you post.
And IIRC you can migrate domains/usernames as well using your private key.
