@dangoodin @vidister The 3.5mm TRS plug, similarly to the 6.35mm and 2.5mm TRS plugs, is designed with special provisions for hot-plugging:
Wheb you plug or unplug it, as the plug travels through the socket, the ground connector of the socket makes contact with the left channel and right channel contacts on the plug, creating voltage spikes that propagate to the speakers and make characteristic pops, notifying everyone that you just plugged or unplugged a cable.
