@spinach@girlcock.club Intel is super classist, unfortunately.

They divide peeps into Green Badges (GBs) and Blue Badges (BBs). BBs are directly employed by Intel. GBs are hired by a middle man.

I'm a GB, so on paper, I actually work for another company. But I was hired specifically to do what Intel asks of me. I use an Intel provided laptop. I use my Intel email address. When I go into the office, it's an Intel cubicle. If Intel decides they don't want me anymore, I no longer have a job.

The reason why I say this is classist is because, as a GB, my job is literally to do what BBs tell me to do. The amount of work, and type of work we do is pretty on par with what the BBs do, but without the benefits. I make only $23 an hour, get crummy benefits, and have to pay for my own lunch and coffee while BBs get it for free. The campus is filled with so many perks with giant signs hung up that say "Blue Badges Only". Even the basketball court, which I've never ever seen in use, is BB only.

I know a lot of GBs work as GBs with the belief that if they can get the attention of a BB, they can get hired. But I've only heard of that happening maybe twice, neither of which happened while I've been working here (1.5 years).

But yah... Anyways, I really enjoy the actual work I do. It's just... The shitty hiring practices, classism, and pay gap between myself and someone else who got luckier than I did is incredibly demotivating and frustrating.
