There is no promise of perfection in the physical realm upon belief or baptism. That people choose to conveniently ignore their own sins while judging others extra harsh is reality, but it's worth mentioning the physical consequences and nature of some sins is more damaging than others. Lying is not as harmful as murdering someone, generally speaking, and if your problem is because you are a home of sexual, that is something you ought to discuss with a priest.
