hannah aubry@blaine @kissane I'm curious why "part of the world' and "a safe place" are mutually exclusive? To be sure, there are plenty of unsafe places in the world, but there are people and institutions that have built safe spaces within it too. To me, the benefit of the fediverse is that you can be part of the world, and connect with anyone *and* also build a safe corner of the internet for yourself.
