    @ned @Timboslice Being a descendant of David was one of the requirements for being the Messiah and being born in Bethlehem is another.

    It's part of the reason why the Pharisees make such an issue about Jesus being "from Nazareth" and thus couldn't be the Messiah but they didn't know (or ignored) that He was actually born in Bethlehem.
