    @mike I have nothing against you calling your server a community, but generically calling every server a community just isn’t accurate. Real-life communities don’t map to individual servers.

    Take an example: the scientific community. Does the scientific community join the science ‘community’ (server) on Mastodon? No, of course not, the community is spread across servers.

    You join a community on Mastodon by engaging with it, it doesn’t matter where you’re hosted.
