I keep coming back to this SciFi novel I read 20 years ago called "Otherland", where nobody actually reads news and instead just lets their personal software "agents" (a pretty good accidental approximation of where current AI tech is headed) give them the important stuff and sends them to go do research for more detailed info if necessary. It's really neat and nifty, because it's fiction and the fiction conveniently omits the fact that a world that has agents that sift the news, there will be also agents that prep the news for the sifters so nobody gets to actually bypass the propaganda and the advertising.
I mean, good for the early adopters, enjoy the moment I guess, I enjoyed having google as a sysadmin in the 2000s. It won't last.
