@lispi314 @noiob I can only speak for the legislation in Germany here: Yes it's real. You can own a laser as a private person, there is no legislation.

You run a company? You're now responsible for employee safety and you must staff a person that is qualified to take the responsibility of laser safety. That person needs to check in regularly and train every person working in the building with the laser once per year. And that person can shut down the laser if something isn't right.
