@kelbot The device is the image is already "running Linux" (but that's a strange thing to say really, like saying that x car is running y transmission, unless of course one is referring to transmission related details), as don't forget that Android uses Linux as its kernel (but Android sucks as it's missing GNU).

You really want one that runs GNU/Linux.

You can get a keyboard for the pinephone and install GNU/Linux, but unfortunately that's not freedom respecting unless you don't use the mobile or Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chipset and disable them with the DIP switches.

There is currently free software available for the mobile chipset userspace, but the part that actually does the signalling is extremely proprietary and has all the malware features.
