Also, the way they present two time periods is like reading a novel. There's no "am I watching two series" moment. They switch at the right time making it smooth.

They're also not rushing it nor stretching it. The pace is just right. It was too easy to rush to the Titans and then build the story later, but they avoided that. They continue to keep the thrill and mystery as to what's going on. Or, they could've easily fallen into filler scenes and episodes, but they didn't, every scene matters, and every character (even support characters) were given development.
