It's honestly hilarious how all those people are so disconnected they got this very basic thing wrong, in the same way they think Palestine is an Arabic word (a language that has no P sound)... This word that the disconnected world thinks is a word we use to self identify, a word that Israelis use in every day language - is one I have only heard a few times my entire life until the current war. I'm Israeli Jewish and I've heard this word most in negative context by white people who never even stepped on the country of Israel or the territory of Palestine.  With that said, the few times I've heard it in where all beautiful. Zionism is not about occupation. Occupation was never a goal. Zionism is not about one group being better than another - simply put Zionism is the dream of Jews returning to our historic home land where we will finally, finally be safe.</a></label><br><a href="https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/558/551/189/730/234/original/6fb94fb2cc7eccb6.png" rel="external">https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/558/551/189/730/234/original/6fb94fb2cc7eccb6.png</a></li><li><label><a rel="external" href="https://gnusocial.jp/attachment/1948019">And in 2023, this dream is yet to come true. But, I feel safer in Israel under rockets than I do walking through the London streets, and in that way we have succeeded. Zionists aren't really a thing you see, nobody uses this word in Israel, that's just another example of how disconnected people are. I have never once in my life called myself a Zionist. I lived 20 years in Israel and I have never met someone who calls themselves a Zionist. Oh actually, I had that one teacher.
That's it. We're just people wanting to live equal and in peace. But people deny our brutally slaughtered and raped and blame us for things that are legal in international law and literally, no other country in history had been blamed for, which is civilian casualties. Our soldiers invent new ways to protect civilians every day including protecting. Palestinians from Hamas at the humanitarian corridor while being sniperd on by Hamas - literally protecting Palestinians with their own bodies - and the world only focuses again on civilian casualties. Completely ignoring the poverty Hamas causes, the lack of medicine and hospitals and the water contamination, the water alone causes 12 percent of Palestinian children death - this number is 276,000 children - and you blame Israel for the invented number of 6,600? You're being ignorant and ridiculous, and incredibly anti-semitic. Israel is absolutely not perfect. Y'all are disconnected af. And sure you can call me a Zionist if you want I don't care. But I'm not gonna use an old out of use word to describe myself. I'm Israeli. I'm Jewish. I'm non religious and I believe in peace, free speech, acceptance of the queer community, awareness of disabilities and mental health issue and in equality of opportunity. All of which... Actually do fall into Zionism. Only that the focus is on Jewish safety and support of each other. And people really don't like that.
