Ingo Paschke@SuperDicq Normal PC floppy controllers make certain assumptions about the on disk format that the Amiga didn't have to follow because it used custom hardware. So to squeeze more bytes out of a floppy disk, they placed sectors closer together than a standard IBM PC compatible floppy disk controller could read or write.
