In fact, since your life is a gift from God that you must cherish and protect, even killing your enemies in self-defense is not a sin if they leave you no other choice.
As Christians we ideally want to always promote charity and love, but since protestants are so confused about these things and atheists twist these doctrines in an attempt to make Christianity look irrational and harmful, it's a defense of our faith to establish these boundaries.
