Critizing marvel movies seriously, in a clear way, is OK by me.
@NEETzsche@iddqd.social
Criticizing things by humor, as mockery, is also OK by me.
Having fun mocking things "just because", as humor, can be OK or not. Depends on whether the people involved can deal with the joke.
The thing I advised you to avoid is going to the theaters and belittling the movie or its creators (so, "Having fun mocking things 'just because', as humor") in a way that feeds actual arrogance and is born out of despising others.
The line between "Having fun mocking things 'just because', as humor" as the OK behavior I mentioned and the destructive behavior I mentioned is blurry and should be. One can be used as a guise for the other and they should be, up to a certain extent.
"up to a certain extent" is also the reason why I said you should go with your friend if you are unsure. Though, there's a level of "unsure" that is acceptable. It all comes down to your personal choices, your preferences, and you policing of your own heart. Which I don't have access to and don't want to have access to and SHOULD NOT have access to. It's a very personal decision.
But I can give you tools (like this very post) to help you establish healthy limits for yourself and your friend.
By the way, do you have a moment to hear the word of the Paradox for the "infinitary" time? Because this is exactly the Sorites paradox.
Please note you can just say "no", or "I already got the Sorites paradox and how it relates to this situation", or "I don't like math". I which case I would probably reply "ah, what do you like, then?"
Or you can say "yes".
If you are unsure, reread this post. Thanks.
