@kirby@lab.nyanide.com Rust was designed for massive sprawling projects where adding all that structure is useful when you scale up to multiple people and millions of lines. (It's the philosophy of Java, too.)
Also alot of Rust features are things functional languages like Haskell and Lisp had in the 90s. It's convoluted because it tries to integrate two separate strands of language evolution (C descendants and ML descendants) together.
