Evan Prodromou@danyork Wingspan is a wonderful game! Each player is allocated an ecosystem, and uses different resources to add bird species to their board. The different species give you different abilities. It comes with a few hundred real North American bird species, and there are extension packs for Europe and Asia. It's competitive, but like Ticket To Ride, it doesn't require directly attacking your opponents. We've played a few times; it's definitely a long learning curve.
