@riotmuffin @lookitmychicken I too have seen such statements about n95s longevity. I also recently saw some work looking at the aerosol filtration over time that was talking about how the electrets in the filter can lose charge over time, especially with high humidity. N95s work because these permanently charged fibers exert force on small particles as they pass through, causing collisions.

I may have even boosted a toot referencing it, but I can't even search my own feed on mastodon so now I can't find it anymore. Anyway that work was recommending approx 20 hours. I'll post a link if I find it again
