It's a weird skit show, and although I watched it when I was younger, I gave up on it a long time ago. American Dad and the other one have the exact same characters in different models.
What's really bad is The Orville. It's addicting too, but it's also terrible. It's too silly to be a serious Sci-Fi. But it's not funny at all and tries to do actual Star Trek stuff. MacFarlane is literally a self insert, playing the childhood dream of being captain of a star ship.
Star Trek Lower Decks is the exact opposite: it's literally the best Star Trek to come out in over a decade! It's insanely funny and makes fun of all the sci-fi nonsense while still having actual story, character growth/development and it's generally a lot of fun (although the jokes really only works if you've seen at least one Star Trek series).
Now that Lower Decks is four seasons strong and I doubt The Orville will ever come back as there's no way it could compete with something that's 1000x better in every possible way.
