@jmaris Does EDPS legislate? No. The EU/EU Council do, with varying levels of input by the EU Parliament (a parliament without legislative initiative; kind of like the kid’s table of parliaments).

Who nominates the European Data Protection Supervisor? The European Commission. Who appoints them? The council/parliament.

So, no, I don’t expect much from EDPS given its limited remit and I’ll continue to hold those with the actual power responsible if you don’t mind.
