I think the people that attack Christians with "the Bible is wrong!" mean that God is bad.
I've always thought the Bible was hard to really understand. And, that seems to have been proven with time. I can see a LOT more of the truth in the Bible. But, still hear "It is written right here folks!, this isn't my opinion, but what is written in the Bible!" used to promote some error, or to coerce people into some action.
Early on in a small group meeting, I voiced my difficulty in understanding what the truth of the matter was, when reading the Bible. As a response, I was directed to a "football Bible" and a "Picture Bible".
Honestly, if you are to know the truth, then you must be willing to question everything written in the Bible, and to confront God about the truth of the matter on all issues.
Saying the Bible is inerrant, or the pope, or anything else, usually just ends up being a pretext for keeping people from questioning erroneous interpretation or teaching.
So, I am a bit allergic to it, as all these replies can testify too xD
