It's tough to raise kids who are above the curve, because people notice and will talk about it. "WOW YOURE SO SMART!" with sincerity, as if the kid needs their ego inflated. I believe in recognizing effort and results not ability. It just has to be sincere, because smart kids hate (when they can see through) being patronized.
