@ChrisMayLA6 It occurs to me that the railway system is not being used as a method of allowing people to travel quickly & efficiently for their own aims, but is seen mainly as a way of providing transit for employees to fulfil the requirements of their employers. As with other privatised services, the issue of affordability is ignored: the return to shareholders is all that matters.
Public transport must, I suggest, become just that: transport for the public.
And that means re-nationalisation.
