At the risk of being totally full of shit
Zionists contextualize their political History along many thousands of years going back to the ancient Hebrews, there is a lot of stuff to parse out much of it religious in nature, but certainly we can't understand the anti-semitism and the history of Jewish people without looking at the successive Invasions subjugation, colonization and eventually complete destruction by the Romans: numerous acts of genocide that led to the jewish diaspora
So Rome was an anti-semitic imperialist power, another semitic people were the Carthaginians who traced their homeland to the Canaan along with other sea faring phoneticians, Let's not forget what Rome did to Carthage, I'll read a bit more to compare the Roman treatment of Carthage and Jerusalem but what I'm getting at is that antisemitism has always had a dual character of being at once specifically against the Jews but also against all MENA people's, the modern descendants of Carthage and the non Jewish Canaan are "Arab" Libyans, Lebonese, Palestinians etc.
So with Zionism you have a very strange synthesis of a people utterly victimized by the West who return 2 thousand years later as Western imperialists accepting numerous antisemitic notions about MENA people
