But even so, the point is the software is "helpfully" futzing with my data without my say-so. Rule #1 in commercial software development is (or should be) `Don't change the user's data without asking first`. And there's nowhere in google calendar settings that I can see - no "Enable Smart Futzing" to un-check - to disable this behaviour.
