   If I put `Dentist 3:30 pm` in my Google calendar, but with a start time of 3:00 pm, Google Calendar "helpfully" changes the apointment start time to 3:30.. and then removes `3:30` from the name of the appointment.

   That's not AI, thats a few lines of code.

   Outlook and other clients "helpfully" autoarchive my email. ie.. move it around to *where I can't find it again*.

   I don't want programs to be helpful on my behalf *unless I ask them to*.

     @lydiaconwell Sure. well, I use 330, removing the colon removes the time association. But even so, the point is the software is "helpfully" futzing with my data without my say-so. Rule #1 in commercial software development is (or should be) `Don't change the user's data without asking first`. And there's nowhere in google calendar settings that I can see - no "Enable Smart Futzing" to un-check - to disable this behaviour.
