I don't even think that's the case. How many Egyptians converted when Moses led them from Egypt? I guarantee a lot of people were like "yeah I'm gonna go ahead with these guys because their God just killed every firstborn and also the plagues thing... Cya Pharaoh!" Surely some of them became true believers and followed God even if they weren't of Abraham's seed, no? Does that mean that were forbidden from participating in worship of any kind? If the original point was to have the nation of Israel as a nation of priests, with their own high priest class within that, would not it make sense to allow all who wishes to follow God's law to be aware of it?
