Blocklists are not moderation. Moderation is not blocklists. In the absence of robust shared moderation tools, people will use shared blocklists tools to do moderation.

The fix for that is not "So do away with shared blocklists!" That's silly. The real fix for that includes "So... build robust, shared, moderation tools too maybe?"

Yes, there are good people working on shared moderation tools too. Yes, some of these folks are sharp critics of blocklists. No, these people don't DDOS Ro.
