@lilli this is just further confirming my suspicion that this is a well-established tactic in the playbook of the western media to backhandedly and superficially claim to support some socially progressive thing (i.e. the flagrant bullshit of saying that if you don't support Israel you're a heckin antisemite) while simultaneously using its own rhetoric to antagonize the opposition and ratchet things further towards the right. I've commented on this before with how trans debates get handled and this feels like another example of that being used both as propaganda for the west's colonialist aims with Palestine and also to encourage violence against Jews
