   it is EXTREMELY concerning that the former leader of Hamas calling for Muslims to protest against Israel tomorrow is being publicized as "Hamas is calling for international attacks on Jews," because that is the EXACT kind of misrepresentation which is likely to be self-fulfilling. im used to news media distorting anything and everything, but why the FUCK would you brazenly lie that Hamas is calling for antisemitic attacks tomorrow in solidarity with Palestine??? you're literally just fucking manifesting antisemites into action! ive already seen so many deranged lies in the news about Palestinian resistance in recent days but this takes the cake for somehow using those lies to commit antisemitic stochastic terrorism. im fucking dumbfounded

     @lilli this is just further confirming my suspicion that this is a well-established tactic in the playbook of the western media to backhandedly and superficially claim to support some socially progressive thing (i.e. the flagrant bullshit of saying that if you don't support Israel you're a heckin antisemite) while simultaneously using its own rhetoric to antagonize the opposition and ratchet things further towards the right. I've commented on this before with how trans debates get handled and this feels like another example of that being used both as propaganda for the west's colonialist aims with Palestine and also to encourage violence against Jews
