I certainly won't argue with the need for better labor rights, gun control, data privacy, visas, etc. And yes, those would help weaken bad actors.

But I disagree that any country has successfully reigned in social harms or bad acting techbros much less from privacy alone. In fact, the EU and UK are actively deploying their own laws to regulate social media. So, I don't think the facts support your argument.
