These said, your pubmed link has nothing to do with that The Drive thing:
1. it is about metal particles, not plastic (zero mention of plastic in the full text)
2. it is about breaks, and not tiers (e.g regenerative EV break would mitigate that)
3. it is about road-side pollution and not oceans
