'moe' stuff like that. but even though i use 4chan like once a month i wouldnt say im a channer cause of that lmao. its just a place I go sometimes to keep in mind what a very publicly accessible and widely used part of the internet is like.
but the thing is, i dropped in here only like a couple months ago, im not a regular user. I wouldn't be suprised if some other users that aren't noteworthy like me also frog post and use other memes that spawned out of 4chan but this is why i dont really understand and trust most of the people starting fights outside this space. to be scared of memes because of their 'alt right' spawn point misunderstands the universality and reappropriation of images online. people could have an avatar of trump in jail and be a leftist etc. literally hundreds of thousands of people are using these sort of symbols and images...and i guess the fear is dogwhistling but the point of this place is that it by design keeps spaces smaller and more segmented so you can pick people out of a crowd and identify that they arent a fascist way more than you would otherwise.
besides, this seems to me like a *very* outdated paranoia that doesnt map onto the reality of this space, emitted by people way too sheltered to understand how the internet is used in the margins. its very 'ex-tumblr' paranoia, and I think to some degree is a nessecary paranoia for people to hold in order to 'fit in' to larger society. its 'not like the other girls' of marginal internet use. or like a russiagate conspiracy but the people messing with you are queer weirdos...
it fucken sucks and i wish people knocked it off. when the fear of us existing as a social contagion doesnt work, they move on to looking at our everyday behaviour and say that we spread some alt right virus or something. it never ends. its just a 'new' way to update a very old lie: scapegoating.
