And yes, the 24/7 ethic is a slave mentality, especially when you're working for someone else.

I made a decision a long time ago to work fewer hours to spend more time with my family. When I'm 80 and dying, my job isn't going to be there comforting me, and it's recollection isn't going to comfort me either.
