- Embed this notice@branman65 @blaaablaaaa @Dovahkiin Many reasons. It's an act of worship and sacrifice that you as a parishioner are a part of. It is pleasant to be reminded visually from iconography and the representation of the holy of holies with the royal doors, through the sounds of prayers and canting, the smell of incense, the ability to touch the cross, to taste and receive the body and blood of Christ. It is a very beautiful and moving thing. I have brought hardcore Baptists to my church who left with 100 questions and an entirely different perspective on our side of the faith than what they expected. It's extremely serious.
