@Dovahkiin @branman65 @blaaablaaaa There's a lot of bad formation in modern Christianity. I give the Orthodox and modern RCC huge kudos for getting serious about their catechism in the last decade+. So many Christmas and Easter Catholics genuinely don't know much. I'm a layman and I know very very little; my knowledge is dwarfed by most Catholic and Orthodox on fedi. All I know is stuff I've asked my priest and researched to supplement, but it's enough to know about what traditions mean because I specifically searched that out. I came from a Protestant background, very Sola Scriptura and the like. It was and still is important to me that the actions are not simply dumb thoughtless motions to go through, because I did not want to be what Christ spoke against in Matthew 6:7
