If everything moved forward in time together, in the sense that it was a unified dimension that ticked and tocked in rhythm, we'd be unable to notice it, kinda like how we don't notice the rotation of the earth by looking trees. Only difference gives us the ability to distinguish and derive. An single object in its own universe can have no velocity regardless of how hard its thrown. It cannot be said to transverse any distance over any period of time. Thus, time is for us an idea derived from empirical evidence.
