It didn't come from the alt-right, it came from people that were trying to find a concept on the left analogous to the alt-right which more or less was not concerned about decorum and directly focused on if you're winning or losing, and deriving entertainment from rhetorical destruction of opponent. Like every linguistic term it almost immediately became worthless by people using it to describe everything. Calling random leftists "alt-left" was perfectly analogous to some people calling anybody perceived as edgy "alt-right". It is a little bizarre that you're blaming this on the alt-right calling people alt-left when it's clearly just an extension of some left wing people calling everything they don't like alt-right. Your "allies" here are defaming you. It's not actually weird at all, this is just what they do, and only now you're seeing it because they finally came for you.
