fuck this just reminded me of something. Back in high school I was doing a theory course for a thing that required me to go to another high school, and in the classroom where it took place, there were a bunch of laminated sheets on the wall that had like a picture of an object and some Japanese that was supposed to say what it is, and with my dodgy knowledge of hiragana I realized that they just transliterated the names from English into Japanese. Pretty weird
