Aral Balkan@s1m0n4 @sll Well, it all counts – it’s a very privileged position to be able to say “skin colour doesn’t matter.” If I’m in the US and I get pulled over by a cop, I don’t wonder if I’m going to survive the experience as a white-presenting person whereas that’s going to be at the forefront of a Black person’s mind. And we’re no better here in Europe either. Our societies are systemically and institutionally racist and our privileges derive from historic and current subjugation.
