undead enby of the apocalypse@lanodan @aran @rlmcelreath who says you have to believe actual ai is going to become a thing at any point in the foreseeable future (or at any point in the future at all) if you, as you say, “link AI with some kind of intelligent behavior” (the I does stand for intelligence…). I don’t “believe” in science fiction, I just think that actual AI is still just in the realm of science fiction and will probably stay there for a long time. I feel like the current usage of the word for any kind of fancy algorithm is misleading and PR bullshit to build hype.
