I’d say would’ve been a pretty fair comparison considering communism had Stalin’s purges and Mao’s three reforms that ruined an entire generation in China. A lot can be said about radical liberalism, but the key talking points are that they’re actively undermining our civil liberties by pushing laws under the false pretense of “equality“ while encumbering if not outright removing some of the provisions put in place to ensure there are checks and balances against government corruption.
Though late stage of capitalism has only ever been theorized by philosophers and portrayed as having been a dystopian future in fictional media, not unlike the four cities described in the book of Revelations. I think you could probably agree with me that in a world where profit margins supersede human rights, the possibility of immense human suffering is enough to ensure that a concerted effort is made to stave that off for as long as possible is a pretty reasonable conclusion to draw.
That’s to say nothing about fundamental Christianity ruining the lives and childhood of queer people and Jihadi Islamic movements engaging in criminal activity and terrorism. The world would be much better off if these extreme ideologies were regarded in the same breath as fascism and never allowed to set root once again. That’s how most people I would imagine feel about harmful ideologies that have adversely affected them to a profound degree as fascism has undoubtedly for you @grillchen. While I do believe that people have as much of a right to hold the beliefs they do, I don’t think that such backward ideologies have any place in modern society.
