The implication that their visibility produces some kind of draw is...blue eyes are a recessive gene, a random mutation six thousand years ago, and we know it was a guy because that gene basically coated a continent in very little time to the extent that there are a shit-ton of people that got that gene from both parents. This means the dude got laid an excessive amount, as did his descendants.
